Introducing: Our new reception area!
Now it’ll be easier and more convenient for our guests who are checking in or who want snacks or gifts or to touch base with myself and staff! We are proud to show off our new check in area. We remodeled the front entry area of my house and now have a space dedicated to guest needs.
Arriving guests will find a new Check In desk, as well as enhanced rack card space with lots of area attractions and information. For anyone who hasn’t yet decided what to do with our time, we can share ideas according to your interests and time, getting you out into the “real Alaska” right around our B&B.
There are also bakers racks where we will offer our freshly baked treats like cookies and our famous banana bread–perfect for an evening snack or to take in the car with you the next day. New this year, we’ve got coolers offering cold drinks and also delicious box lunches to take with you when you check out. Don’t miss our specialty candies like coconut praline balls and handmade turtles that I enjoy making–easy to take with you and so yummy as you’re out on the trail! We also feature fresh fruit, granola bars and Alaska chips made with local Matanuska potatoes.
We have put together a select choice of gifts for our visitors–stuffed animals, artisan cards and post cards, and jewelry by a local Palmer artist.
Lastly, keep an eye out for the board announcing what each night’s Simple Supper menu is. We are rolling out a new meal service in the evening, from 5:30-7:30 pm. We don’t offer a full-service restaurant. We prefer to recommend several of our Palmer and Wasilla restaurants who do a wonderful job of offering a wide variety of choices. But for our guests who are just too tired and who don’t want “much,” we want to supply something hot and nourishing at the end of your long day of adventures. Value-priced, we are offering a hearty portion of a soup or stew or casserole, as well as a homemade roll, cornbread or side dish each night. We’ll dish it up for you, and you can take it to your cottage, apartment or room, or eat on our fantastic new deck in the bright evening sun.
